Schedule Send (like in Gmail) with Outlook
True to Microsoft, make a desirable feature as difficult to find/use as possible 😊
But, what can you do with this? Can you get true Gmail style send with Undo-capability? Yes!
You want to be able to press CTRL-ENTER to send, and be able to undo that (not as easy as clicking on the "Undo" like Gmail, but still possible).
You want to be able to press CTRL-ENTER to send, and be able to undo that (not as easy as clicking on the "Undo" like Gmail, but still possible).
Follow these steps.
(Note, if you do CTRL-ENTER for the first time, Outlook asks you if you want to assign that shortcut. You may need to click "Don't show this again" when you say Yes, for that to stick.. Maybe 😊 Else, just go into File > Options > Mail and uncheck-check on "Use CTRL-ENTER to Send" and I've found that works.
- In the Home view, Next to Move, you should see Rules with a downward-pointing arrow indicating a drop-down menu. This is next to the Send to OneNote button. Click on Move.
- In the resulting dropdown menu, select "Manage Rules and Alerts"
- In the resulting dialog, click on "New Rule"
- This brings up the Rules Wizard. Here, under "Start from a blank rule" click on "Apply rule on messages I send" and then click on Next
- Still in the Rules Wizard, you see a form asking "Which conditions(s) do you want to check? You don't need to do anything here. Click on Next.
- Now the Rules Wizard is on a form asking "What do you want to do with the message?" Close to the bottom, you will see "defer delivery by a number of minutes". When you check that box, you the field at the bottom called "Step 2: Edit the rule description.."
- In this field, "a number of" is a link - when you click it, you get a dialog asking for deferred delivery. Choose the number of minutes and click OK
- Click Finish on the Rules Wizard.
- Now you get a popup asking "This rule will be applied to every message you send. Is this correct?" Click Yes
And you're in business!

As it turned out, I could have saved my money with a better informed Google search :) Here's someone I would have found with "how to add fixed delay to every outlook email?" : https://www.ablebits.com/office-addins-blog/schedule-email-delay-delivery-outlook/
